If you join the union and unemployment insurance fund no later than 2 weeks after your final exam, you will receive 3 months of free membership and a special entitlement to unemployment benefits as a recent graduate! This applies to state-recognised artistic educations such as higher artistic educations and music conservatories.

When am I entitled to unemployment benefits?
- As a recent graduate, you are entitled to unemployment benefits after one month, provided you register within 14 days of your last exam.
If you have been a free unemployment insurance fund member for at least 1 year during your education and up to graduation, you are entitled to unemployment benefits from day 1.
How much do I get in unemployment benefits?
- If you are under 30 years old, you will receive DKK 15,759 per month for the first 3 months. Thereafter, the rate falls to DKK 10,838.00 for those under 30 years old and DKK 13,690.00 for those over 30 years old.

How long am I entitled to unemployment benefits?
-The right to unemployment benefit as a new graduate is valid for one year – or, the equivalent of 1924 hours.
When should I sign up?
The unique right to unemployment benefit without prior accrual requires you to register no later than 14 days after your last exam date. If you register later, you will first have to accrue the right to unemployment benefit, and you will lose the special rights as a newly-graduated.
