Media advice and media handling

As a member of the Danish Artist Union, you can get professional help with your press work in connection with your release, project, show or tour. You can choose between self-help guidance, where you handle the press work yourself with coaching from a press expert, or active help with press relations, where a press expert handles selected parts of the press work for you.

There are two types of offers:

Self-help counselling

You will receive a series of consultations with a press expert, who will give you a general insight into how the Danish music industry and the media work.

You receive coaching on how you can work with the press yourself regarding your release, performance, etc. The process includes, among other things, targeted coaching on the compelling press angle, input for the press release as well as relevant and direct contacts to press professionals and media outlets. You are responsible for the subsequent press handling yourself.

Active press handling assistance

You receive advice from one of our press experts, who helps to formulate a plan for and manage selected parts of the press work in connection with your release or performance.

The advice is tailored to your project and can, for example, include press angles, press releases, plugging to radio and media, as well as prioritising the press effort.

This involves a defined, individual process where it is agreed which parts of the press work the consultant will handle.

Note: Social media is not part of press management.

Ansøg i god tid

You are applying for self-help counselling or active press management support with a description of your project. It is a prerequisite that you apply well in advance and know the date when your project is to be published.

We recommend that you apply a minimum of 3-4 months before release/show start. This provides the best opportunity to plan the press effort and be considered for long lead press.

Please note that in connection with music releases, links to two musical examples relating to the release must always be provided. All material will be treated confidentially.

Unfortunately, we can't accommodate all applicants, which is why we assess applications month by month.

Expect a processing time of between one and four weeks from when the Danish Musicians' Union receives your application.

Price

The price for press handling is DKK 3,000 incl. VAT for members and DKK 14,000 incl. VAT for non-members

The price for press consultancy is DKK 3000 incl. VAT for members and DKK 14000 incl. VAT for non-members.

The amount will be charged once you have been granted a press programme and must be paid before the press work begins.
