Will your publication be included in the competition for the Independent Prize?
If you are a member of DUP, you can set the music to the price Den Uafhængige 2027. The price celebration takes place on February 3, 2027.

The Danish Independent Record Companies (DUP) invite their members to submit music for The Independent, which celebrates independent music and those who create it.
If you are not a member of DUP but would like to submit a song, you can register as a member here.
Active members can make five settings in each category, while passive members can make one. The deadline is Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 14:00.
Recognition for independent artists and musicians
It takes a great effort to release music yourself. The Danish Artist Association supports Den Uafhængige as an important recognition and opportunity for visibility for artists who are responsible for getting the music out themselves.
The music must be released at the right time
To be considered for The Independent 2027, the music must have been released from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026.

The Danish Independent Record Labels is an interest organization for independent Danish record labels and self-published artists. According to DUP, the organization's members account for approximately 80 percent of all new releases.
