New report on wellbeing
shows significant support from the music community
The report, produced by the Music Industry Partnership for Sustainable Development, aims to collect data across the entire music industry and segmented results for 13 sectors. It provides insight into how challenges and progress are distributed across the music ecosystem. The two key areas that the report examines are corporate commitment to equal access and mental wellbeing.
Sara Indrio is one of the initiators of the Partnership, which engages leaders, companies and organisations across the music industry.
"It's important for the report to have so much support because the more people who report, the more accurate the data we can produce. The results that can be found in an aggregated report from the individual companies are really important to nuance the picture of where there is progress and where there is still work to be done - and at what levels," says Sara Indrio.
Among the key findings for the year is that there is still a predominance of men in the executive ranks, but that the distribution between employees is more equal. Most surprisingly, the report shows that only 63 per cent carry out statutory workplace assessments (WPA) at least every three years, while 28 per cent do so less frequently or never. 53 per cent of respondents conduct voluntary wellbeing surveys.
