Become a member
of the unemployment insurance fund

You can join the Artists' unemployment insurance fund if you live in Denmark and are employed or self-employed as a performing artist.

If you are a recent graduate from an artistic programme, you can start by getting a free membership .

If you want to transfer from another unemployment fund, you can get help from our unemployment fund counsellors. Get in touch with them here.

The artists' own unemployment insurance department is under AJKS.

Unemployment insurance

As a new member, you are entitled to unemployment benefits after one year of membership if you fulfil the work requirement. However, many performers only become entitled to unemployment benefits after more than a year, as there may be periods of unemployment between jobs.

Get a personalised unemployment insurance advisor

As a member, you have your own counsellor in the Artists' unemployment fund department under AJKS, and you can get help and information regarding unemployment and availability. This is the same person who processes and pays out unemployment benefits if you become unemployed.
