Danish Artist Association has nominated Erann DD for Danish People's Holiday Fund in recognition of his many years of work as an artist and in recognition of both the artistic work and the commitment that goes beyond his own projects - as an inspiration for future generations.
As an artist who combines popularity and originality, Erann David Drori has had a significant and lasting presence in Danish music since the early 1990s. Already as a member of the funk band Zapp Zapp and later as a solo artist under the name Erann DD, he helped make soul and funk part of the Danish sound with songs like "Still Believing" and "When You Hold Me", written for the royal couple on the occasion of their wedding.
Erann DD has been a member of the Danish Artist Association for many years and has distinguished himself as an artist who values the solidarity of the professional community. Beyond music, he has shown great interest in the next generation of artists - including in his own family, where Erann's children are active as artists in their own right - and members of the association from an early age.
A big congratulations to composer and musician Hanne Tofte Jespersen and actress and director Ina-Miriam Rosenbaum, who are also recipients of this year's Honourary Award.
