How much control do you have over your music on a streaming service? And what does it mean for reaching your audience if you want to pull or restrict access to the music?

At Dansk Artist Forbund, we regularly get questions about what it takes to pull your repertoire from certain streaming services for ethical, political or economic reasons.

That's why we invite all music members to an info meeting about what you need to be aware of in relation to your contracts and in relation to your business.

Here we share knowledge about legal options, general experiences and business opportunities or implications. We will also discuss new terms of use for training with AI on Spotify.

The meeting will be attended by lawyer Emilie Bach from Dansk Artist Forbund and Kristoffer Rom, co-owner of Tambourhinoceros and chairman of Danish Independent Record Labels.

It is free to attend, but registration is required.

During the meeting we will discuss

  • Contractual relationships that determine the level of autonomy you have as an artist in the distribution of your music on streaming services.
  • The extent to which you can drag, restrict or geo-block your music.
  • What it might mean for your earnings and visibility if you choose to leave a large service - both in the short and long term.
  • The differences in payment to artists on different platforms and the implications of withdrawing from the biggest ones.
  • What the Danish Artist Association can advise and help with when it comes to your rights, your agreements and your future streaming strategy.

The meeting is only for members of Dansk Artist Forbund.
