During the summer holidays, the museum is offering, among other things Screen-free summer, where time is turned back to when summer holidays took place without screens. Here, children and families can play singing games, board games, send postcards and wash clothes in tubs in the Children's Backyard. The activity runs from 29 June to 9 August.
As a member of the Danish Artist Federation, you and a companion receive free entry. Bring children under 18 for free.
New exhibition about song, struggle and community
The museum has also opened the exhibition Everything begins with a song, the maThe 100-year history of the Workers' Songbook.
It shows that singing and communal singing are a living part of democratic movements, communities, and social change.
The exhibition tells the story of the red songbook and the singing culture that, through generations, has given voice to hope, struggle, and community. From the early days of the labour movement, song has been a part of the fight for better working conditions – from picket lines and strikes to the women's movement and peace movements.
