Social scholarship
The Danish Artist Association has established an extraordinary social scholarship that can help with sudden personal problems that make it impossible to provide for yourself - such as illness or major family problems.
The scholarship can provide a small financial help of 5 - 10,000 DKK.
It can be awarded when all other options have been exhausted. The scholarship is taxable.
To be considered, you must
- Be an artist or musician with a professional approach to working with music and performing arts
- Having sudden personal challenges (e.g. illness or family problems beyond your control) that make it impossible to work and earn money for basic expenses such as rent, heating, food.
- Have exhausted all other options for financial help
- Present their financial and work situation to the union's labour market consultant and then to the Executive Committee of the Danish Artist Association, who will process the application
How to apply
Applicants describe their acute challenge by email and send it to the Danish Artist Association's labour market consultant Dorthe Korfitzen at dk@artisten.dk
The applicant is then contacted by Dorthe Korfitzen, labour market consultant for the Danish Artist Association, who asks about current problems and opportunities.
If it is relevant to proceed with a social grant, the consultant prepares a recommendation to the Executive Committee of the Danish Artist Association, which decides on the application.
