Collective bargaining
Dansk Artist Forbund is a trade union organisation. This means that we can enter into collective agreements on behalf of our members regarding pay and working conditions. This distinguishes us from interest and genre organisations. In practice, this means that if you need to enter into an agreement with a theatre or Danish Broadcasting Corporation, for example, negotiations have already taken place on your behalf, either via the Danish Union of Artists, the Danish Federation of Musicians or the Danish Actors' Union. In addition, we are also part of the collective rights system, which is included in negotiations about your rights.
Dansk Artist Forbund has entered into several collective agreements. The agreements set minimum rates and establish which rights are transferred in the employment relationship.

Collective rights negotiation
In Denmark, we have a proud tradition of collective rights negotiation. This means that we have one of the world's best rights systems, which is both relatively easy to understand and pays well for the use of rights compared to other countries. It's easier to get good agreements when organisations have many people to negotiate them on behalf of, so also in the area of rights, you, through your membership, help to create a good collective bargaining position.
It's important that you get help to include a so-called "reservation of rights" in your contracts, and when it comes to Performex, you save 10 per cent in administration fees when you are a member of Dansk Artist Forbund. Membership of a trade union helps to maintain and protect the exploitation of your rights, whether it's labour rights or copyright or personal rights.
